Guinness got a frisbee for his second birthday
Across the street and down the block live our favorite neighbors, Guinness and Susanne. They live in the green cottage with white trim and a dog friendly fenced in back yard. Guinness is a West Highland Terrier (“Westie”), and the perfect playmate for my Lincoln. Susanne is his human.
Last week Guinness turned two, and his grandmother promised me some photos from the day’s celebratory events. She also promised that they were going to “keep it local.”
Being an only dog, and an only grand dog, Guinness could count on celebrating his birthday in style. And living in Greensboro NC made the celebration a day long affair that any dog, or human, for that matter, would envy.
Presents, shopping, cake, and beer…the Saturday that Guinness turned two was well documented. Being curious, well…nosey…I eagerly anticipated the photo updates of Guinness’s big day. I had even hinted that I’d like to join in; perhaps when Guinness turns three next Spring? In the meantime I’ll enjoy thinking about what a wonderful town Greensboro is for growing up (for dogs AND humans), with frisbees from All Pets Considered, cake pops from Maxie B’s, and IPAs from Joymongers. Happy Birthday Guinness…did you make a wish?
Weekend driving trips are second only to learning everything about what is in my own back yard. Greensboro and the Triad are growing and changing and renewing in a way that no one would have predicted two decades ago.
