A bit about me…
Luck Davidson
Localist & Blogger
I arrived in Greensboro, North Carolina more than twenty years ago. After growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, I spent time in Massachusetts, DC, and New York (city and suburbs). Somehow I always envisioned living somewhere “down South,” and when my youngest child was six months old, my vision started to fall into place.
From the moment I moved here, I have LOVED calling North Carolina “home”.
My city, my state, and my Southern roots are a huge part of who I am. I have a passion for exploring the local businesses in my community. The coffee shops, the bookstores, the farmers markets, the dive-bars, othe art, the music…finding local color is a never-ending, joyful experience for me. Being able to easily travel to so many nearby great places helps make road tripping and exploring my favorite pastime. Weekend driving trips are second only to learning everything about what is in my own back yard. Greensboro and the Triad are growing and changing and renewing in a way that no one would have predicted two decades ago.
Sometimes I explore with friends, and sometimes I go solo. Having my grown up children in Raleigh and San Francisco has given me a great window into those destinations. And I still have my Dad in Atlanta and friends far and wide who have been great guides to the best of local where they live.
Lincoln, the rescue dog, has been my sidekick for the past year. He’s always up for an adventure.
This year, I am taking more time to learn about unique people, small business ventures, and history that make local life fascinating. This is your invitation to join me and to be a localist wherever you go– even if that is just to another neighborhood in the city where you live. Please email me with your suggestions for people and places to visit for #SoLocalLife!
